College Series – Sandra on CCNY Engineering
Beginning in 2021, the ACE GNY Ambassador Program tasks ACE GNY Alumni at popular architecture and engineering colleges with being a resource on campus for new students. Leading up to our College Fair on 10/19, Ambassadors have written up blog posts about their colleges for prospective students to read through before meeting colleges at the fair.
City College of NY – Grove School of Engineering
My name is Sandra Youssef and I am a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the Grove School of Engineering at CCNY. I chose this school because of its quality education for a low tuition cost. It is one of the best engineering schools in New York with a high student diversity rate. There are plenty of resources here to help navigate your career path like the CPDI (Career & Professional Development Institute). There are also very supportive clubs that inform their members of great opportunities and host events with guest speakers from different fields. One of those clubs is the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) which I am a member of. There are plenty of other clubs with a more of a hands-on nature like the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) who design and manufacture a vehicle for competitions every year. Many notable professors here are conducting renowned research and are open to working with students. Lastly, as a CUNY student you would have access to all 25 CUNY campuses and their resources!
Sandra is a senior studying Mechanical Engineering at CCNY’s Grove School of Engineering. This summer, Sandra interned at Syska Hennessy Group. Sandra is an ACE GNY Alumni.
