ACE GNY FIRMS RESPOND TO COVID-19: Perkins Eastman

Perkins Eastman has been working closely with local partners and healthcare institutesproviding their 3D printers to create Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This includes face masks, face shields, and more.   

Perkins Eastman’s Michael Kane shared more on their efforts with 3D printers and PPEvarious grass-roots efforts to 3D print face masks and other 3D printable components sprang up around the firm...” What started out as individual efforts soon grew bigger as the firm moved forward with arrangements with Blue Edge, the company that provides Perkins Eastman with their 3D printers. Blue Ridge had coordinated efforts to dedicate their printers to solely produce PPE. Perkins Eastman donated their 3D printers to this causecontributing to the production of 10,000 face shields per week! 

In addition to PPE, Perkins Eastman has also partnered with the US Army Corps of Engineers, NY District. Their healthcare design team is on site to support with the construction of an alternate care facility at Stonybrook UniversityThis facility will help care for approximately 1,000 patients in climate-controlled tents.
